There are a lot of Martial Arts DVDs that are teaching specific self-defense techniques. This DVD is unique. It teaches the mentality of Russian Spetsnaz soldier, which in my opinion is extremely important. By knowing Russian Spetsnaz psychology, by understanding their missions, seeing old footage from War, I can relay to what a soldier might feel and go through. You can practice combat techniques, but by understanding what it means to be a Spetsnaz soldier, by feeling it with your heart will make your technique more effective. After watching this Systema DVD I noticed that my body started moving differently. It's like an actor - once you feel the role - you don't have to think how to act, you are just doing it. Same is here! Very, Very good approach. You can learn a lot from history and spetsnaz mentality!!! Go to a deeper level. This is the path to Russian Spetsnaz mastery!

Spetsnaz training from World War II to present time. As the title says, this DVD takes us back in time with old footage of elite Russian Spetsnaz warriors training, and back to present with fragments of current training in the army. You will pick up a Spetsnaz wisdom and psychology by studying the history. For me, this DVD a motivational video and a great reminder of the brotherhood I had in the army. The values we fought for, the independence of our country that we belong. This DVD worth more than the others. You still can learn many different techniques and get inspiration from the DVD, but this is more a documentary of Russian Spetsnaz training, which is still relevant as it was before.
